Thermal Flow Switch

The Intelligent Thermal Flow Switch from Brotek Instruments provides precise flow monitoring for liquids, gases, and air. Using thermal dispersion technology, it delivers reliable switching, programmable settings, and maintenance-free operation for industrial automation systems.

Product Description

The Intelligent Thermal Flow Switch from Brotek Instruments is an advanced thermal dispersion flow monitoring device designed for accurate detection of liquids, gases, and air in industrial process applications. The instrument employs a probe containing a heating element and dual temperature sensors. During no-flow conditions, a constant temperature difference is maintained between the sensors. As fluid begins to flow, heat is carried away from the heated sensor, and the resulting temperature difference is continuously measured by a high-precision microprocessor. When the measured flow reaches the programmed set point, the switch changes its output state to provide reliable flow indication and process protection. Designed as a universal mass flow switch, the instrument measures both liquid and gas flow with the same sensing principle, eliminating moving parts and reducing maintenance requirements. It features programmable settings for alarm value, high/low alarm selection, delay time, zero and span adjustment, and damping factor, allowing easy adaptation to different process conditions. The rugged aluminum enclosure, SS316L wetted parts, and IP66/Ex ia protection ensure dependable performance in harsh industrial environments. The switch provides a 220 VAC relay output for direct integration with PLC, DCS, SCADA, and industrial automation systems. Supporting flow rates up to 3 m/s for liquids and 30 m/s for gases, it is widely used in HVAC systems, air compressors, refrigeration plants, laser cooling systems, water-cooled welding machines, vacuum coating equipment, electric furnaces, polysilicon production, and general industrial process control where reliable flow detection is essential.
