The Swirl Flow Meter from Broil Sensotek Industries is a precision gas and air flow measurement instrument based on the swirl (dual vortex sensor) principle. Unlike conventional vortex flow meters, it incorporates two sensing elements to improve measurement stability, repeatability, and accuracy, particularly at low flow rates. The frequency of the generated swirl vortices is proportional to the flow velocity, enabling reliable measurement of air and industrial gases. The flow meter features an integrated display with optional pressure and temperature compensation, allowing direct measurement of compensated flow values under varying process conditions. It supports industrial communication protocols including 4–20 mA, Pulse, RS-485, HART, and Alarm outputs, enabling seamless integration with PLC, DCS, SCADA, and industrial automation systems. Battery-operated and externally powered versions are available for flexible installation. Designed for demanding industrial environments, the swirl flow meter is available in aluminum construction for non-corrosive gases and SS316 construction for corrosive and high-pressure gas applications. With no moving parts, it provides excellent long-term reliability, minimal maintenance, low pressure loss, and high repeatability.
