Sensewell’s Magnetic Float Level Switch is one of the most reliable and popular point-level sensing devices used for detecting the precise presence or absence of liquids across a wide range of industrial applications and vessels (tanks, bins, troughs, standpipes, etc.). The switch operates seamlessly on the fundamental principles of buoyancy and magnetism. It consists of a specialized float containing an internal magnetic element that rides freely up and down a hollow stem as the fluid level changes. The float's volume and weight are precisely engineered to match the specific gravity (density) of the target fluid. Inside the hollow stem is a hermetically sealed reed switch, positioned at a user-defined actuation point. As the buoyant magnetic float travels past this point, the magnetic field actuates the internal reed switch, instantly sending a highly reliable electrical signal to a PLC, alarm, or pump control system. Float travel is securely contained by retaining clips.
